It's time for the annual Fun Run! Community members, parents, staff and students grades 5 and up are welcome (1st-4th graders need permission from Coach Eby). The run will be on Monday, Oct. 27, at 4 PM; registration is 3:30-3:50 p.m. in the gym lobby. The course ("The Dog"), just under 2 miles, finishes on the train-track side of the field. See you there!
If we've heard from you about Thrift Shop, thank you! If you haven't signed up here or returned your form yet, please do it now if you can help next week. Besides help with Wed and Thurs set-up, we are still in need of workers to help at the Friday and Saturday (Oct. 24, 25) registers; either running the calculator, cutting tags or bagging items.
Wear Pink on Monday the 27th to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness month. We will be selling cupcakes, bags and taking donations on the 27th. Donations will go to the Side Out Foundation. You can also get your face painted for a small donation! Come and support the volleyball team as they take on ASIJ at 5:30 p.m. in the Dig Pink event!
On Oct. 10 the Nobel Peace Prize 2014 was awarded jointly to Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzai "for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education." To recognize this honor given to Malala, this week's Spotlight on Books book is her own autobiography, I am Malala.
Tickets for this year's drama, The Mousetrap, are now on sale in the Business Office. Come put your deductive powers to the test in this classic Whodunit by Dame Agatha Christie! The show will be performed Friday, Nov. 7 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, Nov. 8 at 4:00 PM. Student tickets are ¥500 and adult tickets are ¥1000. Get yours today!
Thrift Shop welcomes your help; even an hour or so makes a difference! Right now we are very short of volunteers to work on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 24, 25) at the registers, cutting & bagging, and for clean-up Saturday afternoon. Please sign up today! Remember, the funds from Thrift Shop help enrich the schooling experience of everyone at CAJ.
