MS girls' soccer gets one loss and one tie against NIS

The middle school girls' soccer teams played a combined two games at home against NIS on Saturday. A Team lost 2-1 and B Team tied 0-0.

Coach Charles Smoker gave thoughts on the A Team's performance:

"NIS had one really strong girl with a lot of skills, and we tried to mark her pretty well, but she got away a few teams and scored two goals for NIS in the first half. We came out in the second half much more energized and ready to play. We had several good chances right in front of the goal, but couldn't quite put it in.

The girls kept trying, and finally with about five minutes remaining, we scored our first goal. We kept pressing after that, but we couldn't get a second goal in. This was a good effort for the girls, and we're getting better each week!"

Mina scored CAJ's lone goal in the A Team game.

Marian said this about the B Team game:

"The B Team played really well on Saturday. The result was a 0-0 tie, but by putting our goals in practice, the players really worked hard on playing with good spacing, ball control and communication. We can't wait for our next game!"

A Team is now 0-4 this season, and B Team is 0-3-1. Both teams will play next Monday at home against KIST.
