HS wrestling competes at Zama dual meet tournament

The high school wrestling team competed in a dual meet tournament on Saturday at Zama. The Knights had four different matchups against Edgren, ASIJ, M.C. Perry and Zama, but they were unfortunately unable to come up with a team win.

CAJ is still dealing with some injury issues, and the team only could send out five wrestlers to represent the Knights on Saturday. Jordan, Peter and Joe all won at least one match. Jordan won both of his contested matches, Peter won one of his four contested matches and Joe won two of his four contested matches.

"Peter got a tech fall against Zama, so that was a really good performance for us. He wrestled really smart there," coach Morris Yaegashi said. "I think the team is wrestling better each time, but we just have a long way to go. If we had our full squad available, it might have been better, but we have to battle with what we have.

We have one more week until Kanto Finals to make some last-minute adjustments to strengthen the skills we already have, and improve on our mistakes."
