Varsity boys' basketball loses 56-44 to Yokota

The varsity boys' basketball team lost to Yokota on the road on Friday night by a score of 56-44. The loss moved CAJ to 1-3 in league play.

Coach Steve Hall commented that the Knights and Panthers were very evenly matched teams. It was a close game for most of the contest until Yokota gradually extended its lead in the second half.

Hall said CAJ did a good job generating scoring chances, but that the team just couldn't capitalize.

"We had enough shots to keep the game close, but we struggled finishing," Hall said. "And when you struggle to score, every mistake you make feels like it's compounded."

Hall also noted that the Knights' lack of experience manifested itself quite a bit against Yokota. He noted some missed defensive rotations by CAJ and the team's struggle to defend Yokota's star player, who had 28 points and six three-pointers.

"Knowing that he's their main shooter and still giving him enough space to get shots off and not denying him space was an example of [our inexperience]," Hall said.

CAJ was led in scoring by Enosh (14 points). Stephen also had nine points, Ty had seven points and Dongha had six points.
