HS wrestling loses 43-14 to Kinnick and 34-13 to Yokota

The CAJ high school wrestling team faced Kinnick and Yokota at home on Wednesday night. The Knights lost 43-14 to Kinnick and 34-13 to Yokota.

The Knights are still dealing with some injuries, but they were able to contest seven weight classes against both teams on Tuesday. CAJ got contested wins from Jordan against both teams and one contested win and one forfeit win from Joe. Peter and Theodore also got one forfeit win each, and Natasha was able to win an exhibition match against her opponent from Yokota. Most of CAJ's contested losses were pins or technical falls, but Theodore had a nice match against his Kinnick opponent that ultimately ended in a loss by points.

"We're wrestling better with each competition," coach Morris Yaegashi said. "Today, Theodore wrestled his heart out [in his loss]. He was doing all the attacking and almost pulled it off. Jordan kept wrestling smart.

We lost, but overall, I'm still satisfied with how they performed. None of our wrestlers got pinned today because of not trying or for being passive, so that's good."

Below are the individual weight class match results against Kinnick:
108- Jordan wins by technical fall
115- Joe wins by technical fall
122- Peter wins by forfeit
129- Theodore loses by points
135- Tai loses by fall
141- Leo loses by pin
148- Kyong loses by technical fall

And against Yokota:
108- Jordan wins by points
115- Joe wins by forfeit
122- Peter loses by fall
129- Theodore wins by forfeit
135- Tai loses by technical fall
141- Leo loses by technical fall
148- Kyong loses by fall

The next event for the high school wrestling team is a dual at Zama on Saturday.
