HS track and field competes at Kanto Finals

The high school track and field team competed in Kanto Finals at Yokota on Saturday. Both the boys' and girls' teams had very successful meets, combining for 36 personal records.
The boys placed third out of seven teams, scoring 84 points. This was the best Finals placing for CAJ since 2010. The Knights' senior boys led the way, scoring 59 points in the individual events and contributing as members of excellent 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay performances.
The girls were also very impressive, earning a fourth-place finish out of seven teams and scoring 44 points. This was the best placing CAJ's girls have achieved since 2012. With Teruyo as the only graduating senior, the future is bright.
Below are all the medal (top 3) and ribbon (4th through 8th) finishes from the day: 1st- Kaito in 100 meters (11.24), Kaito in 200 meters (22.59), boys' 4x100 meter relay team of Wonjun, Josiah, Philip and Kaito (44.7) 2nd- Jeremy in 3200 meters (10:16.76), Annabelle in high jump (1.50 meters), Philip in discus (35.62 meters) 3rd- Raven in 100 meter hurdles (18.80), Take in 3200 meters (10:17.66), Megumi in long jump (4.30 meters), girls' 4x100 meter relay team of Raven, Megumi, Yeonjoo and Safari (55.64), boys' 4x400 meter relay team of Dominic, Kento, Tristin and Kaito (3:32.52), girls' 4x400 meter relay team of Krista, Mariko, Teruyo and Morgan (4:32.13) 4th- Tristin in 800 meters (2:02.86), Take in 1600 meters (4:36.47), Megumi in 300 meter hurdles (53.73) 5th- Morgan in 800 meters (2:35.93), Philip in shot put (11.04 meters) 6th- Jeremy in 1600 meters (4:37.01), Raven in high jump (1.35 meters) 7th- Josiah in 200 meters (24.1), Jordan in 3200 meters (10:41.15), Leo in long jump (5.52) 8th- Dominic in 400 meters (54.65), Tokiwa in 110 meter hurdles (19.79)

Saturday's Finals marked the end of the season for most of the team. However, the Knights' qualifying members will compete in the Far East Championships at Yokota on May 21 and 22.
