Girls' soccer beats ASIJ JV 2-0

The girls' soccer team traveled to ASIJ on Thursday afternoon for a match against the Mustangs' JV. The Knights won 2-0 on two first-half goals from Kaitlyn.

Coach Steve Hall said he used the game as a scrimmage to spread around playing time to lots of different players, give them experience at different positions and try out a new formation.

Hall said the team plans to use the formation next Tuesday against Yokota, and that the Knights started to execute it better later in the game.

"[With the formation], the first half was OK, but there was some uncertainty and not good communication or intensity," Hall said. "Then, in the second half, they picked up their energy, intensity and communication, and it was a lot better."

The Knights now have an overall record of 10-5-2 this season, including a 7-5-2 mark against varsity opponents. They will play again on Saturday at CAJ in a tournament that starts at 9 a.m.
