MS volleyball teams win two games and lose one at YIS

The middle school volleyball teams won two games and lost one game at YIS on Saturday morning. A Team lost and B and C Teams both won.

A Team lost 2-0 (14-25, 23-25) to move its season record to 0-2. Coach Erika Mine said six consecutive serves by Charlotte got the first set off to a good start, but that the team lost its momentum after that. CAJ made the second set much closer by continuing rallies much longer and utilizing more spikes.

"A Team will work on communication on the court and teamwork to win the first home game next Saturday," Erika said.

B Team won 2-0 (25-23, 25-11) to move to a 1-1 season record. Coach Marian Mine brought up six-serve streaks by Anna and Rebecca as important parts of the win. She added that serving is still a point of improvement for the team, but that the team members' attitudes on the court helps the team significantly.

"The energy they have on the court shows in the score." Marian said. "They talk and encourage each other more. They uplift each member of the team."

C Team moved its record to 2-0 by defeating YIS 2-0 (25-21, 25-13).

"The C Team played really well today!" Deakin said. "Hikari had some strong serves and Nikki kept everyone on the court focused. We were missing three important players today, but the girls were able to work hard and push through."

Next Saturday, morning CAJ will host TIS.
