HS girls' soccer gets one tie and one loss on second day of Far East

The high school girls' soccer team continued pool play at its Far East Tournament at Misawa Air Base with one tie and one loss. The Knights tied E.J. King 1-1 and then lost to M.C. Perry 3-1.

Coach Charles Smoker shared some of his thoughts on the E.J. King game:

"We scored right out of the gates to take a 1-0 lead, but we couldn't capitalize on some other chances to increase our lead and we gave them hope. It's been a theme for us all season. We need to finish our scoring opportunities when we get them."

These were Smoker's thoughts on the M.C. Perry loss:

"We came out with plenty of emotional energy, but we were a bit gassed from a physical standpoint. We did do our best to play physically at various points. This is a bit of a low point for us, but we hope to come together for a strong final day tomorrow."

Against E.J. King, Kaitlyn had the Knights' lone goal on an assist from Susana. Kaitlyn also scored CAJ's goal on a penalty kick against M.C. Perry.

The Knights will play Yokota on Friday morning in the first round of bracket play.
