Boys' soccer beats Yokota 7-1

The boys' soccer team continued its winning ways by defeating Yokota 7-1 on Wednesday night. Coach Keesh Kawaguchi gave some thoughts on the victory, which improved the Knights' record to 5-0-1:

"It’s always a team win, and it’s nice to see a lot of assists and different guys scoring. Just as we’ve been playing tough on defense, this game went the same way. We still had a few miscues, and that’s something we have to work on, as well as being consistent. But today, we got to see a lot of passing, a lot of switching the field, and a lot of support, which is great to see.

We do want to win out this season, and having a great possession game and conserving energy when we don’t really need to have counter attacks is something we have to keep working on. But we got to see a little bit of that today, and that was great.

One thing I really appreciate as a coach is that many parents come out and support our team. We’d like to see more of that, as it’s really nice to have those parents come out and support us.

Again, it’s always a team win, and it’s nice to see the guys getting along with one another and talking and communicating and having fun."

The Knights got three goals each from Jacky and Angus, as well as one more from Stephen. Two assists went to Joshua, and Stephen and Takara each had one assist.

CAJ next plays at home on Saturday against St. Maur in a 10 a.m. game.
