HS girls' soccer loses 2-1 to Yokota

The girls' soccer team was also at Yokota on Tuesday night. The Knights couldn't come away with a win against the Panthers, losing 2-1. Honoka scored CAJ's goal without an assist before Yokota scored twice.

While losses are always disappointing, the last matchup between the two teams produced a 5-0 Yokota win. CAJ played better this time around with a healthier roster and a different strategy.

"We changed our formation to be more defensive. It didn't necessarily cut down [Yokota's] shots, but it cut down their quality shots," coach Steve Hall said.

Hall also commented that the defensive focus didn't detract from the Knights' offense, which put pressure on Yokota's defense in both halves.

"It was nice to see that we could play fairly defensively but still have enough scoring opportunities," he added.

CAJ now has an 11-6-2 record this season against varsity teams. Like the boys' team, the girls won't play again until Far East, which starts on May 21 at Camp Humphreys in South Korea.
